This movie has been done before. Hot, rugged, loner Louis Salinger (Clive Owen) seeks to save the world from the IBBwhatever - a corrupt bank that not only kills just about everyone in the movie, it also wants to sell Chinese arms to the Middle East, among other things. Louis Salinger is matched up with Eleanor Whitman (Naomi Watts), an agent from the New York District Attorney's office. We didn't really understand her role in the movie other than to detract from the actual storyline with her bad acting. The movie is extremely, extremely long (in fact, Peach went to the bathroom twice and missed absolutely nothing). There is a cool and extremely unrealistic fight scene in the Guggenheim. It's rather long and bloody but pretty badass at the end, perhaps the one redeemable scene. We hope to pay the Guggenheim a visit soon in our efforts to recreate the fight.
The movie did have the potential to be a stellar spy thriller. Unfortunately, not only did Naomi Watts ruin her every scene, there was absolutely no character development. It was virtually impossible for either of us to relate to Naomi or Clive on screen. As such, Clive's sexy factor was belittled and we were bored. As for our sandwich recommendation, perhaps a Frito and Cheese on white bread (something that looks good in theory but pretty terrible in actuality). In summary, LONG AND LAME.
On another note, Peach was watching the television the other day and came across a commercial for
www.ask.com. The commercial consisted of a man on a scale asking his wife "how much should I weigh?" As Peach was on her computer at the time, she went to
www.ask.com and typed in "how much should I weigh?" as is shown on the commercial. This was what she came up with:
